My Friend.....

I have been lucky to have known Lou for the better part of five decades--yesterday hit hard as I went to San Jose State for the first home game of the season and for the first time Lou wasn't there to greet me before the game; taunt me during the game and say take care after the game. I will forever treasure so many memories of Lou....our hour long conversations that would start with my simple question: "how is the team/recruiting..etc. looking!".....there were many times that I would call Lou on my way back from Tahoe and start the conversation around Pollock Pines and finish around Milpitas!!!....I always admired the love he had for his family--Susie, Megan and Ian were always so dear to Lou....the incredible passion that Lou had for the sport of water polo from so many different perspectives....he was SJS water polo and all his athletes meant so much to him.....during games I officiated it wasn't pretty if he felt any of his players might be in "harm's way"....he left a legacy in our sport in the Bay Area that will last the test of time....Lou, you will live on in the hearts of all those that you touched in the many paths your life took...I will continue to miss your laugh and your friendship...
